Glen & Fleece Expedition

Prototypes and Brand Partnerships under construction

Not ultralight. Ultra-reliable.

We've been let down by ultralight gear too many times. So we went back to what worked for the trappers and northern travelers who spent months in the cold a century ago: wool, fur, leather, and a sled to haul it. They knew what they were doing.

They also spent a small fortune outfitting themselves, often far more of a year's earnings than a Shieling costs today. Good gear wasn't an expense to them. It was the difference between coming home and not.

Heritage craftsmanship. Modern wilderness preparedness.

Glen & Fleece Expedition brings natural wool, fur, and leather together with modern technical materials where they earn their place, in two systems: Breacan, compact and ready for the unexpected, and Shieling, a complete, modular camp for those who intend to travel farther and stay longer.

Every component should have many uses and a very good reason for being in your kit. Every system is built to fit you, whether you're 5 feet tall or 7 feet tall, and made in small, numbered runs with a focus on repairability and long-term ownership. Every Shieling is delivered by hand, set up with you in the field, and comes with a personal orientation and emergency skills session.
