Our Mission

Glen & Fleece exists to preserve a dying art — the patient, hand-worked craft of fur and leather goods — and to place it in the hands of people who understand that some things are worth waiting for.

We make in small runs, by design. Every pelt is chosen, every hide is cut, and every stitch is set by hand in our Tyler, Texas studio. We do not mass-produce heirlooms. We do not rush a fitting. What we build is meant to outlast trend, outlast season, and be passed down — not thrown out.

Our promise is simple: scarcity with purpose, craftsmanship without compromise, and an experience as memorable as the piece you take home.

About Us

Third generation in craft. First generation in name.

Glen & Fleece is a family story before it's a business. I'm the third generation of craftsmen in my family — but the first to be called an Atelier. My grandfather and father worked with their hands because it's how they made a living. I work with mine because I found out, later in life, that it's who I am.

How it all started

I spent 22 years in the United States Air Force, Air Guard & Reserve, followed by a long career in IT and I even have a graduate degree from Harvard. On paper, that's about as far from an atelier as you can get. But underneath it, I was always a closet survivalist — the kind of person who reads about polar expeditions and secretly dreams of being dropped into one. I settled for winter camping in state parks and forests instead. I always wanted arctic-worthy gear: real fur, real leather, built for weather that doesn't forgive mistakes — and I wanted it to actually look good, because tough and pretty were never mutually exclusive as far as I was concerned. I wanted the kind of gear that used to exist before everything got replaced with synthetic and disposable. I wanted my cake, and I wanted to eat it too.

I couldn't afford what I wanted. So I decided to make it myself. The learning curve was steep — steeper than I expected — but that decision is the whole company. What started as solving my own problem — no one was making the gear I needed, at a price I could stomach, to the standard I wanted — turned into a full return to my roots, and then into something more ambitious: an Atelier that could carry heritage craftsmanship into homes, closets, and hope chests far beyond my own.

After 22 years in uniform and a second career built on logic and systems, I've come home to something older than both — the same handwork my grandfather knew. Today my husband — retired US Army, Glen & Fleece's General Manager, and a master woodworker in his own right — and I run the Atelier full time. Every piece that leaves our studio, whether it's mine or his, carries that whole arc with it: military discipline, an engineer's precision, and a craftsman's patience.

●      Baby Collection — plushies, layettes, and blankets soft enough for the smallest hands

●      Memories Collection — memory bears and quilts made from your own treasured keepsakes

●      Leather Collection — handbags, belts, and garments

●      Bespoke Collection — fully custom, one-of-one commissions

●      Rodeo & Rose Queen Collection — custom pieces for pageant and arena, made in Tyler, Texas — the Rose City

●      Banff & Ski Collection — custom furs, hats, and cold-weather pieces built for real mountains, and the annual tradition that is Banff

●      Heritage & Outdoors Collection — mitts, muffs, trapper hats, and field-ready classics (my favorite line to field-test)

●      Hide & Ledger — our software for fellow makers to manage their own shops, with support and updates included, born the same way everything else here was: we couldn't find what we needed, so we built it

The studio experience

Glen & Fleece isn't a shop you scroll through and forget. It's a destination — our studios sit on a working farm in Tyler, the Rose City. Clients visit to select their wood or their own pelts, sit for a personal fitting, and take part in the design decisions themselves, then stay with us as part of a bed-and-breakfast experience built around the commission. You don't just order a piece — you spend time with the people and materials that become it, and you leave with a story, friends for life, and an heirloom.

Why it matters

Everything we make is produced in small, numbered runs. When a run is gone, it's gone. That's not a marketing tactic — it's simply how real materials and real hand-work operate. We would rather make forty pieces exceptionally well than four hundred adequately. If you're drawn to Glen & Fleece, it's because you already understand that.
