It grew out of my own atelier. I'm a working fur and leather maker with a long background in software, and I built Hide & Ledger to run my own business. The Supplier Edition uses that same foundation, reshaped for the other side of the counter: buying from trappers, ranches and auctions, and selling to the makers who depend on you.

RECEIVE A WHOLE SHIPMENT IN ONE STEP

Receiving 50 pelts doesn't mean entering 50 records by hand. Receive the purchase order, and Hide & Ledger creates a record for every pelt, each with its own serial number, and stamps the whole shipment with its lot number. Add CITES tags and origin where they're needed, and that paperwork stays with the pelt all the way to the customer's packing slip.

NOTHING SELLS TWICE

The moment a pelt goes on a quote or order, it's reserved. It drops off every other order's pick list until that order ships or is cancelled, so two customers are never promised the same pelt.

FROM QUOTE TO PAID

Quote → Ordered → Shipped → Paid. Each order shows its next step with a single button. Stock leaves inventory when the order ships, and a one-click undo puts it back if plans change.

Print a packing slip listing every pelt with its ID, lot, origin and CITES tag, and an invoice with your logo, prices, tax, shipping and total. Export ship-to addresses as a CSV for your shipping software or label printer.

YOUR PRICE LIST

Set selling prices by species, size and grade, or price a whole species at once. Each row shows how much you have available, your average cost and your margin at that price. Anything you haven't priced yet gets a suggested price based on your cost and your default margin, and your whole price list exports as a price sheet for customers.

HONEST NUMBERS

Money you've been paid, money you're owed and orders not yet shipped are always kept separate and never added together. Each sale records what the pelts cost you when they shipped, so last month's profit doesn't change when your next shipment costs more.

Your business information is stored on your own computer, not on somebody else's server. It works offline, at a barn, a trade show or a warehouse with no signal.

There is no monthly subscription.

Download a complete JSON backup of your data at any time. Chrome and Edge users can also connect Hide & Ledger to a data file in a synced folder such as OneDrive, Dropbox or iCloud, so every change is saved and backed up automatically.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW

The Supplier Edition is built for buying and selling pelts and materials. It doesn't include the Maker Edition's product recipes, production jobs, cut sheets or certificates of authenticity. If you make finished pieces, look for Hide & Ledger Maker Edition.

Hide & Ledger is a single-user application that stores your data on your own computer. It is not a cloud-based, multi-user system. Each business should keep its own copy and data file, and regular backups are recommended.

Your personal license key is sent to you in a separate message after purchase. Enter it the first time you open the app, and your business name will appear on everything you print.

Getting started:
1. Put the program folder somewhere permanent, such as your Documents folder, and don't move it once you start.
2. Put the starter data file somewhere safe and backed up, such as OneDrive.
3. Open the application in Chrome or Edge, enter your license key, and start setting up your business.
